 Here's a bargain: Membership in Slow Food USA is discounted to $25/year through October 15. It's a good time to sign up or renew. 

 Dig In! Slow Food chapters across the nation are asking communities to volunteer with community gardens on Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. It’s also a potluck, from noon to 1 p.m. Bring gardening gloves, clippers and a potluck dish. RSVP to a school garden near you: Honoka’a High School, The Mala ‘ai Culinary Garden of the Waimea Middle School, Kealakehe High School, Kona Pacific Public Charter School, Kohala Elementary School, Innovations Public Charter School in Kona.

 The NELHA Fish Market is tomorrow, Friday September 24th from 2-6. The Bite Me fish market is attending this Friday so there will be lots of fresh fish available like ono, mahi and ahi. The market runs every last Friday of the month. Stock up for the Eat Local Challenge next week!
