Do you live in Ka'u or South Kona, and are you passionate about good, clean, fair food?  There is a move afoot there to establish a new Slow Food Chapter in your area.  See attached for further details about the event on April 10th.

Join us in Kealakakua for a six course gourmet lunch on April 29.  The terrific students at the Culinary Arts Program at West Hawaii Community College, led by second year student, Dan Cody, will cook and serve a lunch featuring local pork and ending with a dessert using an exotic fruit from the 12 Trees Project.  The cost is $18, and the service starts at 11:30 am.  To reserve your place as part of the SFH group, just reply by email no later than April 22.  Space is limited and this is a great opportunity to get together with Slow Food supporters so put it on your calendar and reply now.  You will pay at the door.

Save another date for a great locavore dinner:  Merriman's in Waimea will be hosting an all local dinner on Saturday, May 14, to benefit the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust.  More information will follow.

Kuaiwi Farm is offering "Bean to Bar", a chocolate making course on Friday, April 14.  For more info email u...@hawaii.rr.com.
