SFH will be celebrating the Hamakua farmer at Hamakua Alive! tomorrow
from 9 am to 2 pm.
"The Hāmākua Coast of Hawai‘i Island is fertile ground for some
amazing foods: mushrooms, hearts of palm, vanilla, salad greens,
exotic fruits, goat cheese and more. Celebrate the bounty of Hamakua
at this day long festival with chefs from throughout the island
cooking up products from the area. Tasting samples will be $2 to $3
per plate; entertainment and fun for all ages!" Stop by and say
hello.

Also tomorrow demi glace made by Dan Bobo from Hawaiian red veal will
be sold at the Parker School farmers market. $20 for 8 oz. Dan and
Clare will also have chorizo, apple breakfast sausage, and kielbasa--
all from Hawaiian red veal. Hawaiian red veal was back at the
Homestead market on First Saturday, and I assume will be there again
for November's First Saturday.
The Hawaii Organic Farmers Association has recently launched its newly
designed website, which lists, on the Organic Marketplace, local
(Hawaii grown) certified organic producers of produce and processed
products. Soon to be launched will be retailers who feature organic
local products. We welcome your visit to the site, and hope that you
will post comments and suggestions. HOFA welcomes your membership, as
well, to support sustainable growing practices across our state.

If you care about fish, science, or food (and we know you so), Friends
of NELHA is having a fundraiser on Nov. 6, with tours of aquaculture
tenants operations, and lunch prepared by the Hawaii Culinary
Institute. The fresh seafood menu will knock your slippers off.
