1) IFAS Small Farms Conference, July 15-17
This is perhaps the main event across Florida when small farmers
gather and that is focused on the issues and learning that small scale
farmers need. It is important that there are many at the conference
to keep it going and to help shape the future content! It has great
sessions and workshops, and is worth the trip to Kissimmee.

If you sign up to go before June 27th, you'll save $50, and pay only
$130 for days of training, great local food prepared by top chefs and
networking opportunities. It's especially good for beginning farmers/
ranchers and those going into a new way of farming. Visit
http://conference.ifas.ufl.edu/smallfarms/registration.html to learn
more and register.

2) Farm to Restaurant Workshop and Culinary Fair, August 1 9am-3:30pm
This workshop, hosted by Slow Food Gainesville and Blue Oven Kitchens,
intends to encourage local sourcing and foster business relationships
by creating a forum for farmers, restaurants, and distributors to
better understand each other’s growing, selling, and purchasing
needs.

Information & Workshops on Topics Include:
Marketing & Branding, Liability & Legal Issues, Business & Financial
Planning, Food Safety, Health & Nutrition, Distribution Standards,
Seasonality, Etc.... It is a great opportunity to network & share
experience!
Contact Val Leitner for more information on sponsorship, tabling
opportunities & attendance: V...@blueovenkitchens.org * 352.278.7518.

Please pass these opportunities on to farmers and foodies you know.
