Good Morning,

Two items for you all today.

1. Local Preference Survey

Please consider filling out this important survey to let the county know your preference for local and independently owned businesses.  It is intended for business owners to fill in, so you have to bear with the survey, but imporatnt to put in your comments and ensure we have a good preference for local business in our county purchasing!

ALACHUA COUNTY, FL - During recent Board of County Commission meetings, there has been increased interest in supporting  local and independently-owned businesses and supporting the Gainesville Area Chamber of Commerce Business Advisory Council's "Buy Local" campaign.  The Alachua County Purchasing Division is conducting a survey of local vendors and citizens.  The survey will assist in the current conversation including whether there is a need for a local vendor price preference within the County's bidding process.

The results of the survey will be given to the Commission to aid in their decision making process. A summarized report will be posted the County website once the survey process has been completed.

Click here to take the survey. The survey ends Friday, August 12, 2011, and it should take about 15-20 minutes to complete.

For more information, contact Larry Sapp, Alachua County Purchasing Manager at 352-374-5202 or ls...@alachuacounty.us.
