In addition to our wine tasting, there's another local food event some
of you may find interesting. Jordan Schiebel, the Slow Food Grinnell
Secretary, will be speaking on wild edible plants of our region this
Saturday at the Drake Library.

From Jordan:

To anyone in Grinnell - I'm giving a presentation on wild edible
plants in the Grinnell area at the Drake Library at 11 am on Saturday,
January 22nd. Its the start of Prairie Awareness Week, sponsored by
the Center for Prairie Studies at Grinnell College. I spent this last
season researching and foraging wild edible plants in order to write a
short edible guide for Prairie Studies. Hopefully I will finish some
time in the next year and it will be published. Until then I can give
talks about what I learned. There will be wild food recipes and a wild
food beverage to try.
