  2. Historical Atlas of the Early Modern World 1492-1783 by John Haywood, ISBN 0-7607-3204-3  Available at Barns & Noble Books. Includes early maps of the central European area and the border changes.  Great information about the movement of peoples in the early years.

  3. Slovakia (Walking through Centuries of Cities and Towns)  © Priroda a.s., Bratislava 1995, 1996. ISBN 80-07-00793-8  Excellent information about locations with some photos, maps and crests.

  4. National Geographic, September 1993.  Great information about Czechoslovakia and the Velvet Divorce.

  5. If you plan to rent a car and drive thru Slovakia I recommend the Podrobny Autoatlas for Slovenská Republika 1:100,000, ISBN 80-8042-343-1.  Enjoy the drive.
