Chapter 16: The Divine And Demoniac Natures
Verse22
etair vimuktah kaunteya
tamo-dvarais tribhir narah
acaraty atmanah sreyas
tato yati param gatim

Translation:
The man who has escaped these three gates of hell, O son of Kunti, performs acts conducive to self-realization and thus gradually attains the supreme destination.

Explanation:
Krishna now glorifies the result of avoiding the "three gates to hell." By following the rules and regulations for the four orders (varnas) and the four statuses (ashrama), one is able to regulate the senses and avoid the entrapment of these base qualities. By cultivation of this Vedic knowledge, one rises to the level of spiritual realization, and from this stage one can perform devotional service. For one who engages in devotional service, the supreme destination, the abode of Lord, is assured.

Please read the Sanskrit Verse and the Prabhupada's Purport.

One's memory of Krishna is revived by chanting the Hare Krishna maha-mantra. By this practice of chanting and hearing the sound vibration of the Supreme Lord, one's ear, tongue and mind are engaged. This mystic meditation is very easy to practice, and it helps one attain the Supreme Lord.

Chant:

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama Hare Hare
