In rare occasions, the Box software you downloaded to your computer may stop synchronizing files online. This is not an issue with PracticePanther and is recommended to contact Box support for the best possible help for their software.

Check your Window's task bar or Mac's menu bar for the Box icon. If you can't find it, it is not running and could be the reason why it is not syncing. Please find and run the program until you an see the application in the taskbar or menu bar.

Box Drive is supposed to mirror the files on the server. But we experience delays of five minutes to over an hour between when we complete an upload to Box and when other users can see the file in Box Drive. We end up having to use the web portal more frequently to download files rather than waiting for them to appear, which creates version issues and nullifies the most attractive feature of Box Drive. The old Box Sync software used red or green dots to indicate if a file had synced. Is there a way to add such an indicator to Box Drive so we can tell if a file is available on Box but not yet reflected in Box Drive?

Understanding that some organizations may have a lot of eventstream traffic being processed by the Streem.exe and that many users are working from less-than-optimal network conditions (at home on consumer grade internet), having an indicator that sync is running behind or being overwhelmed may help with user experience. As it stands, they just can't explain why they can't save a file or a lock gets disconnected.

Yes this or a force sync is a must! After working on files online or creating files in Box Drive on another computer they don't show up for a while on other computers with Drive. This makes the experience painful. Please add in a way to see if files are delayed syncing and force a sync or maybe an option to have instant syncing.

Box Sync allows you to choose specific files and folders to sync between your Box at BYU account and your desktop. Once you install Box Sync, first select the content you want to sync to your desktop:

Box is a cloud-based storage service that provides unlimited free, online space for storing or sharing files. Files stored on Box can be synced and accessed from several locations, including desktops, mobile devices, and laptops.

Box online storage is like a hard drive in the cloud. Store documents and files in Box and then access them anywhere, anytime, from any device. Box also can sync files from your local hard disk automatically providing a backup that will always be available from other computers and devices. All Tulane faculty and staff have access to unlimited storage on Box and can view and access their content anywhere, anytime, on any device.

If you wish to stop a folder from syncing with your computer simply go back to the web interface, right click and choose to unsync it. It will automatically be removed from your computer without deleting the online version

I am currently having 2 synology nas setup with cloudsync BOX service. Both of my NAS showing successfully sync'd to BOX cloud. Having an issue with new/change files/folders to be syncronized properly. Here is what I tested so far and result of it:

The cloud icon beside a file or folder indicates that the item is safely stored and up to date in Box. If you add or update a new file or folder in Box Drive you'll notice it turns into a yellow syncing icon. Once the change has completely synced back to Box, the icon will reset to the blue cloud.

Working with Box files in other applications such as Word or Excel is a completely seamless experience. Simply open the file from Box Drive and work with it as you usually would. Once you're done, simply save the file and it will sync back to Box. You can also use Save As to save the file to a new location, save with a new name and even create new folders to save into. All of those changes will automatically be saved in Box.

Box Sync is a productivity tool that allows you to mirror data stored on Box to your desktop. You can then navigate and modify content stored on the Box website through your computer's native file browsing interface, without using a web browser. Content that syncs down to your computer are available for offline access. If you make changes to the synced files locally, these changes automatically sync back up to your Box account.

Once you've chosen the files that you want to sync back and forth between Box.com and your local computer, you can edit files either in your Box Sync folder, or on Box.com. When you make a change to a file that's located in your Box Sync folder, that change will also be reflected on Box.

If you copy or move the contents of the original folder (by default %USERPROFILE%\Box Sync) to the new folder (e.g. D:\Box) before starting Box Sync it will not be necessary for the files you had previously synchronised to be downloaded again.

Another great way to do so would be using Symbolic Links. In short, a symbolic link tricks the operating system into thinking the file resides in one location, when in reality it resides in another. I personally use a symbolic link in my Box Sync folder that points to my flash drive. That way I can sync whenever I plop the drive back in.

In addition, Box makes available over 1000+ compatible applications that leverage the Box platform. Box also provides a published API that allows for local development of Box compatible applications, including such diverse use cases as tools to sync data between devices, file transfer (FTP), storing SQL backups, file encryption, and faxing. Box also integrates with MS Office Online and provides a storage repository for those applications.
