Fentanyl overdose - CDPH ALERT

 Attached below is a California Department of Public Health Alert  concerning narcotic overdoses caused by synthetic fentanyl sold in pill that look like Norco (hydrocodone). When treating potential overdose from this drug, reversal may require more than the standard  dose of naloxone and the narcotic effects may outlast a single dose of naloxone, so the patient should not be released if they wake up in the field and a single dose.
