SSSA ties

G'day all,

I realise that the SSSA is now Qld oriented but having lived in NQ for
some years, even there they wear ties!

I would like us to consider having some SSSA ties created for not only
members use but also as a revenue source.I am President of the Bowral
Rugby Club and recently we have replenished and re-designed our stocks
of ties.

The man who created them is innovative and competitive and he is happy
to create a design for us and a quotation.

My choice, and I collect yacht club ties from around the globe, would
be a navy background with our logo diagonally across it club tie
style.

Re the ties, I seem to recall some years ago you put this up for
discussion at one of the Slocum Spray Society (SSSA) committee
meetings. I think there was a problem with both the cost per tie for
small numbers, related to the fact that most of our members don't, and
may never, attend any function formal enough to warrant a tie - where
they are representing the SSSA.

That said, there may be members or owners out there who work in a
place where they wear a tie, or attend formal functions and might like
to wear a tie which has a reference to Joshua Slocum and or the Spray.
A very good conversation starter, I'm sure. But only members of the
SSSA would be entitled to wear a tie with the SSSA burgee on it.

Anyway - members of this forum can put their views.
