Hi Mr. Tomich,
This is Lindsey Collinsworth,
previously of Sacramento. It was so nice to see you in San Luis Obispo
this past Friday. Your talk was very interesting and I look forward to
hearing you talk again at Cal Poly.
You had mentions some good resources to get in touch with regarding the organization I have been helping out with. I wanted to thank you for your suggested resources
for Central Coast Ag Network (CCAN), and was wonderng if you could send me their names and/or email addresses.
CCAN is a non-profit that is hoping
to get a local food system going on some city land that will serve as
an organic farming incubator for new farmers coming out of Cal Poly as well as other local farmers.
The area is currently 12 acres, but in the future there will be access
to almost 90 acres. We would like it to serve as a learning tool for
various organic practices and have the produce available to the
community and make it's way into the school system. Our organization is
already doing monthly local food tastings at schools but we would love
to know how we could make a greater impact.
We are currently working with the city to get the
distribution center with light washing and chopping abilities put on
the land. This is where we need a lot of funding. I wonder if you know
people that we should talk with for funding possibilities or to use as a business model.
Thank you so much for your time and I hope to see you again very soon!
And if you talk with your mom or dad, tell them I say 'hello.'
Lindsey Collinsworth
