SLOpunks,
After noticing a few early warning signs of RSI, I am taking action to
prevent further damage to my wrists when I'm programming. I've heard
of (and seen) some wrist braces designed for preventing some of damaging
motions in typing. I was wondering if any of the punks out there have had
experience and could recommend a particular brand and place to buy them at
(URL, etc). Since most of us are computer-savvy and some of us have
suffered full-blown RSI conditions, I felt it should be a good forum for
the question.
Recommendations? Comments? Thanks to all.

no experience with braclets, but i had a problem with my thumb and wrist 5
months ago after using a logitech trackman marble for a few years. my thumb
was un-usable after 5 mintues of mouse useage. i switched back to an
intellimouse and i'm back to normal. no surgery or anything....let me tell
you though...the pain i had was horrible...and it came from the inside of my
finger, don't let this happen to you!

I've had on-off wrist pain sinceI first learned to type. It comes and goes,
but three years ago I bought some Ergodyne ProFlex wrist supports, and they
always make the pain go away. They're not rigid, but do help you to
maintain a better wrist posture, and prevent too much curvature.
The company page:

And the support I use:

The blue is quite fetching. =]
Thanks to the CADRC old timers for recommending them.

Step #1: Stop using Emacs.

I watch people when they type, and notice that they always push the
keyboard away
from them, then stretch out their arms to it to type. No wonder they get
problems.
I place the keyboard about 1 or 1-1/2 inches from the edge of the desk
and very seldom
if ever suffer any wrist fatigue. My fingers get tired, but not my
wrists. I think most
of these problems I hear other people talking about are caused by
*POSTURE*, not hardware.
