·         Launches the world’s slimmest Full HD 3D LED TV - Series 9000 with a wafer-thin design and a touch screen remote control

Bangalore, August 04, 2010: Digital technology leader, Samsung Electronics today announced its plans to consolidate its leadership in the Flat Panel TV Market on the strength of its 3D TV and LED TV focus. The Company which has gained its Flat Panel TV leadership by being the first to launch innovative new technologies like LED TVs and 3D TVs globally and in India, today announced the launch of the world’s slimmest Full HD 3D LED TV- Series 9000 in the Indian market. Samsung, a global leader in colour televisions, was the first company to launch 3D TVs for the Indian market in March this Year, across LED, LCD and Plasma platforms. The Company is also the first to manufacture 3D TVs at its Noida manufacturing facility.

 

Announcing the launch of the Series 9000, Mr. Ravinder Zutshi, Dy. Managing Director, Samsung India stated, “As a global market leader in colour televisions, we remain committed to being the first in deploying new categories of entertainment like Full HD 3D TVs for consumers in India as in other parts of the world. Samsung 3D TVs provide consumers with a completely immersive and comfortable home entertainment experience and based on the encouraging response that we have received from our Indian consumers, we are introducing our Flagship 9000 Series of Full HD 3D televisions in the Indian market today.”

 

The 2010 CES Best of Innovations award winner, the Samsung 9000 series stands apart on account of its ultra sleek 7.98 mm thin form with a built-in tuner; its premium touch remote control with display ‘Touch Control’ and its top of the line performance and quality. Its eye-catching, stainless-steel bezel and back cover maximizes the slim line of the TV, with the added advantage of the built in tuner, speakers being embedded in the stand, translucent neck, and an auto-sliding touchpad. The 9000 series also comes equipped with four HDMI ports, including a USB port to play various multi-media files directly from the flash drive or USB HDD.

 

Another unique aspect of the 9000 series is the premium touch-screen remote control with three-inch, color display, an earphone jack and Twin View, which lets you watch TV or Blu-ray DVD titles simultaneously. Other than this unique Twin View option, the remote has a ‘one click play’ feature which means if you play the DVD connected to the TV, the TV turns on automatically. The remote includes AllShare and a QWERTY keyboard, and at 2.4 Ghz, its integrated Wi-Fi and infrared technology controls the TV, STB and AV devices with on-screen buttons.

 

The 9000 series TV is about as chic as you can get with its built-in 3D processors’ auto-conversion technology that has the ability to automatically convert 2D content into 3D. Thus, consumers can add a level of depth and clarity to a live football game, making them believe they are part of the action by watching in the 3D Mode. When not in the 3D mode, you’re back to watching one of the best performing HDTVs on the market with the push of a button. Complemented with 2 x 15w front-facing speakers, the 9000 series offers a truly a well-rounded stereo sound performance and an unbelievable, immersive viewing experience.

With built-in Ethernet connection and wireless-ready capabilities, the 2010 Samsung 3D TV lineup is ready to meet the growing consumer demand for “content without borders.” The upgraded Internet@TV feature now includes Samsung Apps with an expanded, easy to navigate selection of content and applications from leading services like The Associated Press, Blockbuster, Fashion TV, Netflix and YouTube amongst others. Applications can be downloaded and viewed all while watching TV.

 

The AllShare feature in the Samsung 3D TVs allows users to wirelessly connect their TV with compatible mobile devices which means that users can share movies, photos and music through a single device – the Samsung 3D TV.

 

The 9000 series impressive feature set continues to deliver all these functionalities without compromising on the energy efficiency. The 9000 series has been given an Energy Star 4.0 award for energy efficiency. In keeping with Samsung’s commitment to the creation of innovative green technology that puts the Planet FirstTM, the 2010 Samsung 3D TV range is energy efficient and made using environmentally friendly processes.

 

What’s more, the new 3D TVs match Samsung’s 2010 line of Blu-ray players and home theater systems bringing a cohesive element to a home entertainment room. Along with the company’s 3D Blu-ray player (BD-C6900), Blu-ray integrated home theater system (HT-C6950), 3D active glasses and 3D Movie ‘Monster vs Aliens’, Samsung offers a complete solution allowing consumers to bring the 3D theater experience home.

 

Samsung also announced the launch of attractive 3D LED TV Solution packages for consumers to provide them with ultimate 3D home entertainment in their homes. For example, starting today, the purchase of a combo of a Samsung Series 9000 55” TV along with the Samsung 6900 BD player and three 3D glasses will be made available to consumers at Rs. 430,000/- against a price of Rs.479,970/-. Likewise, the Company is extending attractively priced solutions for Samsung 46” and 55” 3D TVs in Series 7000 and 8000 as well. Availing any one of these 3D TV solutions, entails a customer savings between Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 50,000/-.

 

“We are looking at doubling our Flat Panel TV Volumes this year basis our lineup enhancement in LCD and LED TVs as well as the launch of our 3D TVs. In keeping with the growing consumer preference for flatter and slimmer displays, we are expecting our Flat Panel TVs to contribute 40% to our total CTV Volumes this year,” said Mr. Zutshi.

 

The Company which had launched LED TVs in 32” screen size and above last year has extended the lineup to introduce LED TVs in 22” and 26” screen sizes this year in its LED TV Series 4000 and 5000. The Samsung LED TV lineup now includes 13 models in the 22” to 55” screen size, priced in the range between Rs. 25,000/- to Rs. 200,000/-.  With 10 television models across three technology platforms of LED, LCD and Plasma, and screen sizes ranging from 40” to 63”, Samsung has the industry’s largest lineup of 3D TVs. Samsung 3D LCD series are available in the 46” and 55” screen sizes, priced between Rs.129,000/- and Rs.186,900/- respectively. The 63” 3D Plasma TV is priced at Rs. 300,000/-. The 9000 series is available in 55” screen size, priced at Rs.440,000/-.

Samsung LED TVs are really good . I think they are the best in category . I found this 75 inch tv : http://pricepaaji.com/product/SAMSUNG-UA75ES9000-75-inch-3D-LED-TV/2086/0 
Its cost is around Rs.690000/- .. Does anyone have any reviews for this TV ??
