Convert Excel to ASCII format file

Dear Friends,

 

There is a file in Excel sheet. I want to convert it in to an ASCII file.

Can some one tell me how to convert Excel file in to ASCII format file?

Simply Save it as Text File

File -> Save As   -----> Select "Text" to 'Save as Type' Combo box

I did so. But there are specific lengths for each field.

Ex : Name length 30.If the actual name is less than 30 characters do i have to leave spaces manually?

If so, you have to select "Formatted Text (Space delimited)", this will create a prn, file but it  also a text file.

Refering to my quary reagrding excel and ASCII file....

I managed to creat a prn file with ur guidance. Now my prob is that in the txt file each line should get ended with 30 spaces.How to get that done.
