Hi,
I'm still on-and-off with this issue for SDL_draw. I think I wasn't
able to have it fully working on any machine so far (on the one I was
closer, it compiles fine, but slip segfaults at runtime - but it is a
probably-non-MMX processor).

An idea: does git support something like svn:external? If so, why
don't we tie proteus repository to corresponding version of SDL and
include it in the building process? That would make it much easier for
people to join and actually "see" something. And for me to switch
seamlessly among the several machines I use (provided that the
segfaulting problem mentioned above is not deal-breaking)

Meta-question: I understand that SDL has been selected as the
slipstream graphical backend because of its simplicity and possibly
ubiquity, but unfortunately (at least on the Linux boxes I've tried)
it is not straightforward to get it right. Are we sure SDL is the best
choice (I'm not questioning, only wondering - since on recent machines
I only know hi-level tools/APIs, however I can tell you may details
and tricks to draw on the screen in assembler with the Commodore 64
:-)

Thanks and Have a nice weekend,

Davide
