Au contraire :-)

Actually I've been meaning to get back to this and finish it off,
so please reassign it back to me. There's a Utah code camp coming up
in Sept. and I am proposing a talk on SlimDX for Direct2D/DirectWrite.

In preparation for that, I wanted to finish off the remaining client
side interfaces that would complete the support and port more samples.

I haven't seen any chatter on the mailing list for a while; are you
carrying on discussions elsewhere? The mailing list is all I see. I
did talk with Josh some at the Summit.

There hasn't been much to talk about lately. Josh and I have been working on V2, which is now hosted on GitHub. V1 is kind of in maintenance mode, so I've been going through the issues we still have open and fixing them up. If you want to finish the DWrite stuff, I'm sure plenty of people would appreciate it.

Ah.... why the move to github, if I might ask?

How will D2D/DWrite be supported in V2?

Is V2 the one that automagically generates the thunking layer?

I'm guessing you'd still like to see samples...

We moved to GitHub because we wanted to use Git. That simple, really. V1 will forever remain on Google Code though. No sense moving it now.

Hopefully most of D2D / DWrite will be autogenerated just like everything else. Of course once that's done there will be manual fixes required to make everything conform to our usual standard for naming and usage. We can let you know when we're at that stage if you're willing to help with that.

And of course, samples are always useful and welcome.

I've been using mercurial. I'll see if it interoperates well with
Git; if not, I can install git as well. The git commands just don't
resonate with me in terms of what they're called vs. what they do;
mercurial was a better brain mapping for me and Codeplex started
supporting mercurial.
