trying to use Slimbox 2 with MyBB 1.8.8 to display posted images in threads in lightbox, please help!

I know this is possible as it works with Lightbox 2 but totally bugs out if there are more than one attachments in a thread/post.  So I followed Slimbox 2 directions precisely and it doesn't work. Pictures keep opening in a new page as usual.

I even tried the thumbnail/attachment template code from the Lightbox 2 tutorial with Slimbox 2 and it doesn't work either.

Please help!!
