Hi folks!  I'm posting to announce a new resource for SLiM users, called slim-community.  It's an "organization" on GitHub that you are encouraged to join.  You can find it at:

To join it, just click the big blue "Request to Join" button and follow the process, and once you receive an invite from a community moderator, you're in.  It should be quite easy and quick.

As a community organization for SLiM users, slim-community serves a couple of functions.  One, it hosts repositories related to SLiM that are by members of the community, rather than by the SLiM developers themselves.  There are already several cool repositories there; check them out!  Two, it provides a venue for discussions between SLiM users on topics of interest.  Feel free to start a discussion there.  Posts here on slim-discuss should be more about asking questions and getting support; to start a discussion that you want others to join in on, and that might be long and involved, please use slim-community instead to avoid spamming the hundreds of users onthe slim-discuss list.  And three, it might serve as a resource for finding other SLiM users and networking; you could even post jobs there, as discussions.  And if you have ideas for how it could be even more useful, that sounds like a great discussion topic!

Also, by the way: there's a new web page up at http://benhaller.com/slim/bugs_and_questions.html with some guidelines about reporting bugs, asking questions, etc.  Please check it out before posting on slim-discuss or on slim-community, so that your posts go to the right place and are as useful as possible.  Thanks!

Cheers,
-B.
