Yes, SLiM is only single-threaded at this time. Was there something in
particular that gave you the impression that it was multithreaded?
As for how to speed up your simulation, I'd recommend looking at chapter
21 of the SLiM manual, which has rather extensive discussion of
performance. If you get a profile of your model and are unsure how to
optimize the bottlenecks you find (but think that they can be optimized –
i.e., SLiM is not just spending all its time creating offspring, for
example, which is what it is), feel free to post the profile here and
perhaps there will be suggestions for you. With so little information
about your model, it is of course impossible for us to guess what might
help.
