I have a quick question regarding how we can modify recombination map for individuals based on their population.
I am now simulating African and European individuals by using SLiM, and I would ideally like to use to use a different recombination map for those individuals based on their population.
Is there a function that I can use in SLiM to conduct this simulation?
Thank you very much for your help.

Sincerely,

Hi Daiki!  You have two choices.  You can use a recombination() callback to add or remove breakpoints as you wish based upon the subpopulations involved (see the relevant section in the SLiM manual), or you can use a nonWF model, and set the recombination rate map before calling addCrossed() for each offspring.

Cheers,
-B.

Hi Ben,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply, and it was very helpful for me.
After thinking hard, I decided to use the same approach as the SimHumanity manuscript to simulate individuals, but I might try using the steps that you mentioned as well.
I hope you have a great week!

Sincerely,
