Conda is a package manager and environment manager, popular with many for installing software. SLiM is now available on conda; if you're already happy with how you build/install SLiM, you can ignore this, but if you use conda this may be of interest.
To install SLiM with conda, assuming you already have conda set up and you are already within the conda environment that you want to work in, just do:
conda install -c conda-forge slim
This means "install slim from the conda-forge channel". If you're an experienced conda user, you may of course want to do some variant of this. :->
Enjoy, and let us know if you encounter any issues; this has been tested somewhat, by Ian Caldas, but hasn't been pounded on across a variety of platforms yet. The conda-built version of SLiM ought to be functionally identical to SLiM built from sources yourself, with the same performance; there's nothing magic going on here :->.
Thanks to Jerome Kelleher for making this happen!
