Afteryour trial expires, you cannot extend the trial period. For short-term needs, you can purchase a monthly subscription and turn off automatic renewal (to limit the length of the paid subscription to one month only) or purchase Flex tokens for a flexible pay-as-you-go plan.

Students and educators can get free one-year educational access to Autodesk products and services, which is renewable as long as you remain eligible. If you are a student or educator, you can access free AutoCAD software with an Autodesk Education plan.

You can subscribe from within the trial software or visit the AutoCAD product center. When buying your subscription, enter the same email address and password combination you used to sign into your trial. Learn more about converting a trial to a paid subscription.

When you trial and subscribe using the same Autodesk account, all your project files, preferences, settings, and customizations made in AutoCAD during the trial period will be transferred and accessible.

To download the trial, click on \u201cdownload your trial\u201d and follow the steps. Your available downloads will appear in Autodesk Account. I recently want to check out AutoCad, and being in High School I wasnt going to have my parents give up $4,000 just for a computer program. So I downloaded the 30-day trial promised a fully functional program just cut off at a deadline. Until I learned the trial only gives you 2-d options, rendering the whole program practically useless as I have MS paint for free to draw things in 2d. Hungry for options I found out about the Student package, so I also downloaded that. Soon to learn that it gaave the same results. So the real question is: Does the trial or student version have 3D capabilities hidden to me somehow? Or do I just have to deal with it and try and mooch off of a friend with full AutoCad? Before anyone responds with "have you tried using extrude commands, etc." I tried multiple surface and 3 D commands but none worked and the 3D tools tab does not exist.

Both the Trial version and the Student version are identical to the $4k version. The only thing that makes one "version" different than the other is the type of license it's being run under (30day free trial, student, commercial stand-alone, etc) There are absolutely no features missing from either the Trial or the Student version.

If you didn't have any 3D tools, then it's likely you downloaded/installed AutoCAD LT, which doesn't include all the features of the full AutoCAD, most notably the 3D modeling tools. Look at the program group, shortcut, or program title bar, does it say "AutoCAD" or does it say "AutoCAD LT"?

Or perhaps you were in the 2D Drafting and Annotation workspace, in which case there wouldn't be any 3D tools on the Ribbon (but the tools still would have worked if typed in at the Command line)

You say you 'learned' the trial doesn't have 3D options. How did you come to learn this?

And really, if you are comparing 2D autocad to MS Paint, my suggestion is instead of using 3D Autocad; build whatever 3d model you want in Lego and take a picture of it. Same thing.

Autodesk gives away free 3-year student licences with full functionality to anyone who has need for it in school, and they're not even too strict with it (like a list of approved schools or something like that, which is what my Vectorworks dealer does). I suggest you take a look.

I renewed the license at -360/personal and was successful in downloading the Fusion 360 Client Downloader. When I logged out and back in Fusion 360 still shows trial mode. I tried again a few days later with the same result. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, same result.

It seems you are all set with your renewed license. Autodesk recently changed the renewal of a Personal license to begin with a full subscription trial. When this trail ends you will be switched to your Personal license. They are hoping you will like the full subscription version enough to purchase it and not continue using a personal license.

My personal use license expires in 6 days, but I've been unable to renew using the process I've used before: (log out of Fusion, log in to my Autodesk account on the web and renew, download the installer, wait 30 minutes, then log back into Fusion)

I use a Personal license, to help me work with questions involving this type of license, which comes up for renewal in 5 days. I will be documenting the process I use to renew and develop a process for others during my renewal process.

Turns out the form at -360/personal-form was broken and not showing me all the required fields. I would submit the form as was presented and could not continue to the download page. Eventually the trial expired and I was stuck with no license.

Does Autodesk really think that constantly making life miserable for hobby users will encourage them to pay for Fusion? Wasted another hour this morning trying to solve the Trial subscription issue because I hoped it would resolve my "Can't create new project" issue - but that appears to be a different bug.

Updating this because it turns out the responses are wrong - at the end of the trial period my copy of Fusion360 just died, now I can't figure out how to reactivate it without paying for one of the exorbitantly expensive commercial plans.

If you originally started a trial of Autodesk BIM Collaborate, BIM Collaborate Pro, Build, or Takeoff and have recently purchased a subscription to one or more of these offerings, you must convert a team and account to work on your previously created projects.

If you are the administrator of only one team and have one trial, the conversion process is automatic and you are taken to your activated account. If you are an administrator of multiple teams select the team you would like to activate.

Note: In rare cases, an Autodesk product may require you to update your licence type when you convert a trial to a subscription. See Updating your licence type when converting a trial to a subscription (US Site).
