Hey Bikers,
Spring is around the corner and I've started getting my bike ready.
I put new brake pads and a rear tire on it yesterday.  (Photo attached)

I know this group didn't do as much riding last year as we've usually done and some have moved on to other adventures and perhaps to other groups.
So I'm just wondering who out there is still thinking to ride with this group and what kind of trails and rides you might be wanting when spring hits and the trails dry out a little more?
Any feedback or ideas?

Another thought I've had is to try joining in with other groups (perhaps via Meetups) and maybe meet some new people.  Any thoughts on that?

Hi, Bud! I was definitely one of the laggards last year. It was just "one of those years" when life got out of balance and I was consumed with career stuff and let fitness and fun time get away from me.

Now that I'm out of shape, it's time to commit to getting fit again -- and I've missed mountain biking, for sure. So you should see me on the trails riding with you this season.

Your bike looks stunning! I'd be afraid to take it out and scratch it. 8^) Mine needs some work to get it back in shape, including a new adjustable seat-post since my Gravity Dropper (which has always been finicky) finally died. (What would be a good replacement?)

Hey Steve,
Great to hear from you.
I look forward to some biking together this year.
Yep,  my bike is a dream bike but it does have some scratches on it from a couple of years of riding so I don't pamper it anymore.
I'm using a Gravity Dropper seatpost now after finding the Joplins develop mechanical problems too often.
I know all the bike shop guys in Moab swear by the Gravity Droppers for reliability.
There are probably some other good seat posts out there too.
I think Janet has one that she has been happy with.
See you soon when the weather breaks.
Bud

Well, I had one of the earlier Gravity Droppers; perhaps they've improved and been re-engineered since I bought mine. I'll check 'em out again.

Guys

I miss the group and would like to see some outings ( not just one Steve Ha)

Let me know when we can get together again.

I definitely want to ride this year, but work and family will be the ultimate deciders on how often I can go.  I’m open for trails anyone else wants to ride ( and I love downhilling), I’m not picky, just as long as it’s not pavement J

Regarding other groups, I’m ok with meeting new people.  I just hope they are as chill as all you guys and gals are.  We have a great group of people, and that’s not a common thing.  There’s a lot of buttheads out there…

Awesome !
The Force is building.
So far we have Bud, Steve, Omar, and Bruce.
Come on out sleepy hypernators.
Get your steeds ready.
If anyone sees a nice day coming and knows of a relatively dry trail (especially on weekends) then give us a yell----Whaahooo !
Bud

Hey Bud, it's good to hear from you!

I'm definitely ready to get back on the bike.  Last year free time came at a premium with everything going on, plus getting remarried and all that. I'm leaving for my honeymoon (finally) this Saturday I'll start tuning the bikes.

I'm up for anything I can make time for.  It's nice to squeeze in quick rides on the front range trails but I'm also in need of some adventure riding.  I would love to go back to Moab sometime and am always up for some downhill action.

As for riding groups, I've joined a couple of meetup groups last year. One is the Boulder Mountain Bikers (http://www.meetup.com/Boulder-Mountain-Bikers/) and the other is Denver Mountain Bikes (http://www.meetup.com/mountainbikes-108/).

I've only ridden with them a couple times but enjoyed both outings.

I hope to see everyone out on the trails again soon!

Congratulations on your new marriage!
Hope to see you on a ride before long when the weather gets a little better.
