Newbie sorting algorithm

Someone just emailed me suggesting a different newbie sorting
algorithm based on that of the Toastmasters'.
"Those with the least presentations under their belt go first
Replace "least" with a sort function which results in a queue where N
< 2 finds its way in the middle of the queue, not at the beginning or
end. A huge problem for these sorts of things is embarrassment of new
people to the group and the shy."
I think that's a great idea, although the first ever meet will have to
be straw poll time ;)
