Integrating Slideshare with WebSite

Hello There

We are an upcoming CMS with focus on education in India.

Now we need a solution for users to upload and then preview docs ( ppt / pptx / doc / pdf ) on our site.

• We find slideshare an excellent solution , although its API key expires post 100 calls / day. Is there a way to overcome that by going PRO ?

• Also do I get an option to download the file while the widget previews through API integration on my site ?
  

• Finally would I always need users on my site to separately login to slideshare accounts - the idea is to keep them on my site page and not take them through another set of login credentials.

Kindly let us know your thoughts. We are planning to go PRO.

Please send your username to api at slideshare dot com, and we can
increase limits on your account.

When you use get_slideshow api method, the response contains
DownloadUrl field that can be used to download a file. Check this
using SlideShare API Explorer [1]

As an account is always required to upload something to slideshare and
signup is not supported by the API. You'll need a pre exisiting
account. You can either include account creation on slideshare as a
part of the app flow (keeping it in a modal window), or use your own
account to upload these presentations.

Hello Jay,

I have used get_slideshow api method to get slide information by id. But in response I am only getting below listed result.

The is no "DownloadUrl" parameter in that response XML.

I have already set "Allow download?" parameter checked by editing settings of my uploaded presentation.

Is viewers username and password is required parameter to allow user to download Slideshare presentation from my website?

Hi Ronit,

Thanks for reporting the issue. If you have checked 'allow download' then it should ideally work. Can you PM me the steps to reproduce this issue, or details of the slideshow where it is happening?
