Can Slideshare API be used in web portal?

I read SlideShare Terms & Conditions and it mentions that the API can not be used for commercial applications. But I have seen many sites using the API.

We are developing a site for customer and want to know if we can use the SlideShare API to integrate in the site for users to view presentations.
