search_slideshows always returns a timeout error

We have been using the seach_slideshows API endpoint for a long time, but for the past two weeks or more, it has been returning an error every time we submit a request:

<SlideShareServiceError>
  <Message ID="106">Request Timeout or Failed. Please try again.</Message>
</SlideShareServiceError>

We are getting the same error when using this endpoint from the SlideShare API Explorer as well.

Note, however, that using our same API key, we are able to use any of the other endpoints.

Does anyone know why the search_slideshows endpoint is broken and when it will start working correctly again?
