So I already saw someone else ask a similar question however the Adobe people who replied were not at all helpful on that post so I am going to ask myself and make it super clear so that there is no confusion. So here is my problem:
I've never had this issue before. I am using the most updated version of Photoshop. I am trying to create a singular line using the line tool. Whenever I use the line tool, it turns it into a very thin rectangle. It is deceiving at first because it looks like one line, however, it provides 6 points overlapping each other, which indicates that it is a rectangle (cause it is) I reset the tool already but it still does this.
I have seen moderators say that the tool has always been like this, which I absolutely beg to differ and I am sure other artists will too. So either give me an alternative tool in photoshop to use as a line tool or Ill have to literally create dashed lines in a another program and drag them in which all sounds ridiculous.
This was giving me trouble too and none of the "fixes" mentioned in your replies solved it for me. Then I thought of using the pen tool instead and it completely avoids the nonesense of the line tool. You can draw the "line" with two points of the pen tool, then stay on the layer but switch to the line tool and you can manipulate your "line" with the line tool menus. Hope this helps!
The line tool can be confusing, and especially when creating dashed lines IME, but it is mostly straight forward if you look at the Options Bar setting. If you look at the settings below, the Line is set to 20 pixels, but fill is turned off and stroke set to 3 pixels, so it makes sense that the line it produces is a hollow rectangle with a 3 pixel stroke.
It's when we want to create a dashed line, as opposed to rectangle, that it can be confusing, and I can remember struggling with this in the past. You need to turn fill off and set the stroke to the require line thickness. You can just about see that I have the Weight set to 1 pixel. You can edit this as you make the line using the More Options drop down, and get real time results.

I haven't had access to photoshop in a few years, and I don't especially miss it because of Pixlr. I'm not exactly an advanced user of graphic design products, so I can't speak to that level... But for basic image editing and creation, this gets the job done.
Pixlr is used by our organisation as a cheaper and more accessible version of photoshop. We use it to create graphics for our campaigns, as well as posters, report covers and other visual content for our work.
I use the software as my go-to for quick photo edits and social media post creation. I've used this for so many uses for simple graphic editing that I can't imagine not having it for image resizing, editing, and social media content creation.
Pixlr is so far my best online photo editing applications. I can easily access it through my browser without having to download and install any application on my computer. It pretty much helps me do everything I would do with a more complex and advanced application like Photoshop.
It's exceptionally user friendly and right on the money. It provides an editing platform like no other platform can. It's well built with high resolution editing experience, which is simple yet very elegant to use.
This Pixlr application is one of the best photo editing software I have used so far. There are lots of unique features available and the best part of this application is it's clean and user friendly UI.
The autofix and autocontrast features are very useful when time is limited and you have edit multiple images. I use these features to automatically correct the basic adjustments and then tweak few parameters to get the images according to my taste.

To open Timeline, go to the top navigation, choose Window > Timeline. The Timeline will let you turn different layers on and off for different periods of time, thereby turning your static image into a GIF.
Next, choose the type of GIF file you'd like to save it as under the Preset dropdown. If you have a GIF with gradients, choose Dithered GIFs to prevent color banding. If your image employs a lot of solid colors, you may opt for no dither.
The number next to the GIF file determines how large (and how precise) the GIF colors will be compared to the original JPEGs or PNGs. According to Adobe, a higher dithering percentage translates to the appearance of more colors and detail -- but it increases the file size.
Pinterest was the first to enable animated GIFs, followed by Twitter. And by the summer of 2015, Facebook had also jumped on the GIF bandwagon. Then, Instagram changed the game with Boomerang, which lets users film and share their own GIFs. On any of these social feeds, animated GIFs can be a great way to stand out in a crowded feed.
Make use of GIFs by showcasing products, making event announcements, or otherwise enticing readers. Check out the GIF below from The Hustle, which showcases various prizes email subscribers can win by referring the Hustle to friends:
If you are looking to design a brush for any specific purpose, then this tutorial will prepare you for the future. All the parameters must be set in the right direction so that you can design a smooth brush of high quality. You may practice making the slight changes in the different settings and customization so as to create brushes of your choice and style.
At the end, you will categorize and name your brush so that you can use it in future accordingly. It is all about practice and making things happen. So be ready for the tutorial full of fund and energy. You have to set the proper size for your brush and set up the file for it keeping all the aspects such as exposure in consideration. Afterwards, you will define the brush as your own identity. You may have though brush-making as a very difficult step but it is nothing more than just making few selections with cursor to give proper shape to your desired brush. You can also choose to edit the brush later using the brush presets.
You all probably know that you can make a PS brush out of just about anything, so setting up your file correctly is key. Whether you are using a scanned image, a photograph, or whatever, you need to set up your Photoshop file in a way that will give you the best results for your brush.
It may be temping to have a file open and see something that you want to make a brush out of and do it on-the-fly within that file, but in order to make a brush knowing it is sized right, it's always a good idea to make a separate file to make your brush.
You may not need a high resolution brush, but what if you need the same brush to be larger 6 months down the road? It's always a good idea to make your brush as large as possible in order to use it for other projects later. If you are in CS2 or 3, You can make your file 2500 X 2500px. If you are running a previous version of Photoshop, you will most likely be limited to 999px, if not less.
You can use a color image to define a brush, but you might find it easier to convert your document to Gray scale in order to get a better idea of what to expect. When defining a brush preset, Photoshop will automatically convert your selection to gray scale to make the brush. White pixels will become transparent (which means you don't have to erase the white/background pixels! Keep reading below for details), Black pixels will be opaque, and everything in between will be see-through black/gray.
For the longest time I couldn't figure out how people made such detailed brushes, and I kept telling myself that it would take way too much time to clip out the intricate shapes. Well, there's a reason why even the novice Photo shopper can make amazingly detailed brushes. Like I said earlier, since Photoshop defines brushes based on a gray scale, there is no need to erase or clip anything! All you have to do is use the adjustments above (you may want to erase unwanted pixels here and there) and everything that is 100% white disappears. White=Transparent, so put down that eraser or magic wand, and define your brush.
Of course, if you're looking for ready-to-go Photoshop brushes, we recommend checking out Brusheezy for their wide array of free Photoshop resources. We hope that you will achieve results according to your own choice and priority. If you are unsatisfied with the brush that you have created, simply go to brush presets and change the settings according to your own choice and priority. Check out customization for other brushes and apply similar to those in brush presets. We hope that this tutorial will have helped you in some way or the other.
