Online painting software, some times called open source software, will provide you with a variety of Internet sites that allow you to draw and paint directly on a web browser on a Chromebook or desktop computer. Explore the following sites in the order they appear. Using the tutorials provided to complete the following projects. Create and save a collection of different images from the sites and combine them in a multilayered work by opening them all in a single Pixlr. Like Photoshop, Pixlr will allow you to create multiple layers in a single document. If you have Photoshop, use it. After becoming familiar with the sites, create a series of images that you can include in your portfolio. Follow the tutorials listed below and complete the following assignments. Visit often for updates and new assignments.

Longtime readers know that I'm a big fan of both gratitude journaling and self-acceptance. As I wrote in recently, I was not at all surprised that a recent study found acknowledging your negative emotions is key to releasing them. Of course it is! In today's self-acceptance art tutorial we're going to use this to our advantage to name and then release self doubt and criticisms. I chose to use a rainbow because it's easy to paint and because it has positive connotations in almost every religious, folk, and mythological tradition.

Begin by grabbing your pen or marker and writing your self-doubts and criticisms down on your canvas. Lay it all out there - don't be shy! Remember that acknowledging your negative feelings is key to releasing them and that no one else needs to see this part of your painting. Please excuse my wonky writing - I did this while wearing my sleeping baby!

After your cathartic writing experience, take a moment to think about what you've written. Acknowledge your feelings and doubts, then consciously let them go. I find that thanking them is helpful. I know that sounds weird, but a lot of our negative thoughts are designed to protect us in a strange way. If I tell myself "I am bad at art," then I don't have to even try to create and make myself feel vulnerable in the process. I don't have to feel bad when I do create and it doesn't turn out like I want. If I make something and someone else criticizes it, then I have the fall back option of telling myself "well, I'm bad at art, so what did I expect?" Acknowledging this can help you let go of these negative thoughts and limiting beliefs.

When your paint/gesso is dry, use our pencil to roughly sketch out a cloud or two for your rainbow to live on. This is optional, of course, but I find it helpful. You can also make guidelines for your rainbow, if you'd like (I suggest it if you're not highly confident in your rainbow painting skills). I took a photo but it was virtually impossible to see the pencil lines so I didn't include it.

Then I painted them in and added little dots with my extra fine white Posca Pen. Sharpie paint pens also work well. Micron pens theoretically work, but the nib is a little more fragile and they're easier to damage on a canvas.

Speaking of accepting and forgiving - I'm going to have to accept that blog posts will be a little more sparse while we're getting moved in/before my crafting supplies arrive in South Carolina! I worked ahead as well as I could prior to our move, but didn't get as much photographed as I would have liked. Our move was one hassle after another and had to take priority over blogging projects. That's life, though, and we all arrived in one piece (how many of our household goods will be able to say the same remains to be seen!)

Funny how negative self-talk is so ingrained in our brains. I do write negative thoughts in a notebook and then I transform the sentence to a positive affirmation. My notebook is full ?

Your rainbow is super cute. I admire you for posting these great tutorials while having just moved to a different state!

That sounds like a great notebook to have on hand! I know posts will continue to be a little sparse over the coming months, but sharing tutorials, in particular, is helpful to me. I know the internet will still be here if I take a break, but I love teaching and making tutorials gives me an outlet for both creativity and my desire to teach.

At the beginning of the simulation, buses and trams are being dispatched to cater to their designated routes.Simultaneously, people are created. Each person hurries to their favorite bus stop and waits for their bus or tram. They then are picked up and brought to their target bus stops.

Bus stops can be easily created with the bus stop tool at the top of the window. The following gifs will describe the basic creation of the net used in this tutorial.Creating an edge with reverse line and side walks.

When saving the net you should save your additionals as well.Bus stops should be written in the additional.add.xml file to provide the stops for the people and vehicles. An example xml code for the bus stop may look like this:

The created bus stops can be used as the stopping points within the route declaration. Those routes can later be assigned to vehicles, in this case, trams and buses. The routes are written into the routes.rou.xml file.Below you can see examples from the code for the routes of the trams and buses.

Buses and trams usually run on strict schedules in daily life. Similar alterations are possible in SUMO and are vital while using intermodal routing.Such schedules are defined with the attribute until. The until attribute is set for the stops.A vehicle following this schedule can't leave this stop until this time ('until') has passed and the minimum stopping time ('duration') has also passed.

Instead of flows, all persons and vehicles can also be defined individually and person plans can be defined with explicit steps.Use the sumo option --vehroute output to learn how a is expanded into multiple travel stages during the simulation.

As you have probably seen from other tutorials, you bind everything togetherwith a sumocfg. Within this, you set the net, route and additional files.Afterwards, you can start your simulation by clicking on it or starting it over on thecommand line.

Mashup Culture explores the remix culture as cultural exchange. We live in a world of ever-expanding networks, and the ways that we process and 'mash up' the various media and data reflect the evolving interconnectedness of our interactions. While studying about remix culture and collaborative process, students will manifest projects that involve mashing up media using various web-based creation tools that enable remixing of image, sound, video and data. Process becomes part of the product: emergent narratives unfold and authorship becomes fluid. The result is a series of vignettes which reflect the distributed nature of our natural dynamic, bringing us together in cohesive cultural fusion.
