Your device will either scan the code automatically once your camera is focused, or you will have to press a button in your QR code reader application. Keep in mind that scanning and processing QR codes can take a few seconds.
My friend asked me if it's still possible to factory reset his Sony Xperia J phone in any way when the pattern code was entered 20 times and it locked itself. The only way to do it right now is to enter the answer to the question, but he doesn't even remember it. The second one's validating through a Google account, but he doesn't remember his credentials.
I tried the volume up/down/both + power button, didn't seem to work, the menu won't show up. I tried flashing it, but it's locked and when I tried to unlock it, writing the code in the emergency dialer didn't do anything too. Additionally, other codes didn't look like working too. No menus showed up.
The Photo Pro app on my Xperia 5 iv doesn't recognise QR codes. The QR Code reader is on and the app is in Basic Mode. I am using Android 13 (Update 64.1.A.0.857). Any help or advice is much appreciated.
Hey TrevorF, thank you for the update. On the screen, try as much as you can to include the 4 corners of the QR code, make the phone steady, and move the came closer and away from it. Let me know how it goes.
Many thanks Hannah. I think it was just the two QR codes that I was trying that were not working. I have since tried a few others and they work okay. I think Photo Pro may have a few issues with recognising codes in different types of media (e.g. on a monitor screen). So I will continue to experiment and feedback here.
I could not scan it, neither with the Camera app, nor with CodeReader. In the Telegram group someone suggested to change the colours (darker, higher contrast) of the photo. CodeReader still could not read it.

I did a factory reset for my Xperia Z1 and added a password to it for security purpose. I was using a different phone for a while and now when i went back to use my Zperia unfortunately I don't recall my password. I have tried doein a hard re-set via button in Sim Slot, PC companion and even the code but it's not working for me
I'm sorry to hear this. You should be able to reset your device if you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. Note that this will completely reset your device, erasing all of your personal data.

Can anyone tell me please the remote control codes to activate, separately, the Power On and Power Off functions; and the codes that will specifically select input HDMI 1, input HDMI 2...etc for the Sony Bravia TV KDL-55W829B? Grateful for any advice. GeoffH101
1. Sony Bravia TV (KDL-55W829B 'Bravia Sync' i.e. HDMI CEC capable) --- via input HDMI 1 for visual signals from --- Sky Box+ (not currently HDMI CEC capable, but about to be upgraded to include control over HDMI capability on completion of the roll out of the R010 firmware update) --- via optical cable for audio signals to --- Sony AVR STR DB 940 (not HDMI CEC capable) in 'TV/Sat' input mode delivering 5.1 sound from coded broadcasts; and
The issue arises because the native configuration of the TV remote, looking at external inputs, is to select 'move one position on from the present position'. This enables the user to scroll through the menu of available inputs and make a manual selection. This is ok in regular use; but clearly I need the code to select specifically for input HDMI 1 (and separately for HDMI 2) in order to complete the 'one button' sequence of command codes from the URC 8610.
Sorry to have gone on a bit; but I would appreciate any advice or guidance, and especially any information on these specific input selection codes; or, indeed, any other ideas on how this may be done. The best answer may be simply to wait for the R010 firmware update and use the HDMI CEC control over HDMI capability to select device and input channel, and then use further commands to select the matching AVR mode.
The Blu-ray Disc device or drive will support playback of Blu-ray Disc purchased in the same region, unless otherwise specified in the player or computer documentation. In other words, computers and Blu-ray Disc players purchased in countries / regions corresponding to region A can play back Blu-ray Discs for region A, but cannot play back Blu-ray Discs for region B or region C. (The exception is a disc, player or drive coded as Region FREE.) The same will be true for a computer or Blu-ray Disc player purchased in another region.
Ultra HD Blu-ray Discs are region-free and can be played back using a player that supports Ultra HD Blu-ray, regardless of the region where they were purchased.
Why unlock your Sony by code ? Because it is the easiest, fastest and most secure way of unlocking right now.
There are a variety of services used for Sony. Most popular is the SONY all networks service, which provides unlock codes for all networks from all over the world.
If you know the exact network and counrty you might be interested in using a "specific service" for AT&T, T-Mobile etc.
Even after using our code, you don't loose the warranty, the codes don't interfere in the system or change it in any way, so the producer doesn't have any rights to take away your warranty.
The most important thing to check, before you make an order is the code counter status. Code counter that shows all 0 cannot be unlocked. There are no tries left to enter the code to the Sony.
You are making an order at your own risk if you didn't check the code counter !!
The phone lock code prevents others from accessing the contents of your phone (such as pictures and messages). When the phone lock code is turned on, it needs to be used every time you turn on your phone and when it has been in sleep mode.
