Hi,

I have been having issues with the alarm volume lately. The alarm is very loud the first two seconds and THEN begin to increase the volume smoothly.
It has been working beautiful before with Sleep as Android and the same alarm sound I am using today.

What I've tried so far:
  • Messing around with all the volume settings, set to lowest possible etc.
  • Reset all the app settings.
  • Changing to different alarms tones.

Sleep as Android v. 20160317

Using OnePlus One.
OxygenOS v.2.1.4
Android v. 5.1.1

Hello,

could you please reproduce the error and then send me a debug log (menu > report a bug)? What version of Sleep as Android are you using? Could you please try this one?

Thank you very much.

Hi Jiri, and thanks for the quick reply!

I was using Sleep as Android version: 20160317. I tried with the version of Sleep as Android you linked to but it was the same result.
I replicated the issue and attached the bug report as you said.

Hello Christian,

sorry for the delay. We've got some reports that it might be caused by preamplifier system on OnePlus, are you using it? It would be the "Audio tuner" app.

Thank you very much.

Hi,

I am not using any pre-amplifier app on my phone sadly.

Sorry about the issue. This is a 1+ specific bug introduced in the latest firmware. Unfortunately I'm not sure what we could do. We have two mechanisms for gentle volume increase. In the first one we set system volume to 100% and only change the sample volume from zero to max. This was broken with the last firmware update of 1+.. This is why we made a fallback to the second approach. In this approach we set the system volume to 0 and gradually increase it one by one, the problem is the volume 1 is already very loud on 1+ firmware, usually this approach can only work with 6-10 steps anyway. Hard to say what we can do without the actual device.

Thank you very much.

Alright thanks for the detailed explanation of the issue. In the meantime I'll just create a .mp3 with "hard coded" gentle volume increase.
Hopefully this will work again in the future!

This bug seems to affect OnePlus 3 as well.

Hi Petr, Previously on m Samsung s5 this feature was working perfectly.

Now with my OnePlus 3T I cant' get it to work!
I couldn't find the audio tuner app you mentioned on previous message ?

So it for sure and for now specific to Oneplus but it might spread out.
What else could we do to help you pinpoint this annoying issue ??

Thanks

Hello,

unfortunately there is nothing we can do now. We would need to have the device for extensive debugging and even then we might just find out that it is a firmware bug that is not possible to workaround on our side.

Thank you very much.
