to Sleep as Android
Hi,

I got a new phone last week, a OnePlus 3T. It's great, except Sleep As Android isn't working as it should, and that's a disaster.

The Sleep Tracking function doesn't seem to be active doing the night. The sensor seems to stop in the night, but react when I wake up, or shift my entire body. It doesn't calculate sleep cycles either.

I'm using a OnePlus 3T with OxygenOS 3.5.3, and Android v6.0.1. Using the latest Sleep As Android version from the playstore (20161122 according to the app info), I have the Pro version.

I have attached two graphs from my OnePlus 3T, and the full on working graph from my Nexus 5.

Cheers

Mathias

Hello, it seems CM on 1+ has a very aggressive implementation of the doze mode which goes way above what Google implemented in Android 6.0. Please white list Sleep as Android in battery optimizations..

Thank you very much.

Thanks for the reply!

When I go into battery optimization, the overall setting is set to "Not optimized". I assume that means that it's not affecting the apps, doing doze mode. Or do I have to enable optimization and then whitelist the app...?

This basically means that you don'thave any app in the not optimized list and you need to add Sleep as Android :)

Thank you very much.

Okay, great! :)

But I didn't set it to that now. It was already not optimized, when the sleep tracking didn't work. Got any other suggestions, I could try?

The app is optimized by default like any Android app so you would need to explicity opt-out form battery optimizations for Sleep as Android before. Did you do that?

Thank you very much.

Well, I definitely have not done that. From "out of the box", before changing settings in or about the app, when I installed it on the phone, the sleep tracking just didn't seem to work..

Than please do it as it seems on your device you need to explicitly make the app not optimized (non-default option) in order to make sleep tracking working.

Thank you very much.

It worked!
The sleep tracking was active all the night, this time, and it calculated the deep sleep cycles as usual.
You were right about the optimization part, I just misunderstood how it displayed it in the settings. It was optimized by default, and I set the app to "not optimized", and now it works like it should.

Thanks for the help!
