Commanders and ES Officers,

Please review the attached SPIN regarding Operations for the Monthly ES Training Mission, after the SAREX Weekend has concluded.

This SPIN goes into effect this Month with a transition period that will end in March with full implementation in April onwards.

This SPIN will also be uploaded to the Mission Files along with the Ops Plan every month.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Commanders and ES Officers,

It has come to my attention that there was some confusion and misunderstanding regarding the expectations of the FRO in this SPIN. Changes have been made to this SPIN in the 3.4 Flight Operations section in parts 3.4.8, 3.4.9, there are added sections 3.4.10 and 3.4.11. These changes have been made bold and highlighted in gray to better see.

To better explain, we expect the FRO to take their duty seriously and responsibly for the sake of the safety of our aircrews and our aircraft. You are not just a box checker to let a pilot fly, you are the final line of defense to notice any flaws or issues with a sortie that should prevent that sortie from being flown and the person who can immediately notify the IC or me of a mishap.

These policies are being made for that exact reason, I hope we never encounter any mishap that jeopardizes the safety of our aircrews. However, we should always expect the unexpected and being able to know when our members need help as soon as possible and getting to them as soon as possible is my highest priority.

These changes, although not perfect, will help us all with that endeavor.

The revised SPIN is attached.

Please let me know if you have any questions or comments.
