Commanders,
We’ve been working on the attached pamphlet and accompanying checklists for quite some time. They are also posted online if you’d prefer sharing links with your command staff and functional leaders.
CAPP 170-1, CAP Comprehensive Response Plan
CAPP 170-1, Annexes A-P (checklists to support the response plan)
The purpose of these documents is to help fill the gap between regulatory guidance and CAP’s varying levels of leadership experience at all echelons, both functional and command. It’s released as a pamphlet, so it’s nondirective; however it offers considerable “food for thought” for situations many have never before been exposed. The annexes are saved in Microsoft Word format to make them easier to tailor to local needs.
There is no expectation that you read these documents; however, you are encouraged to know what topics are covered and remember that this tool is available to your and your teammates should a crisis occur. If you have topics you’d like to see added to the plan, please don’t hesitate to let me know or submit a CAPF 1-2, Recommendation for Change to Publication.
As always, much appreciation for what you do each day for CAP, our members and America.
