Hello,
I hope this message finds you well. My name is Hannah Fithen and I live in Columbus, Ohio. I am reaching out to you today because I recognize you, your business or your organization as being conscious of our struggle to secure climate justice, a struggle that entails a commitment to economic and racial justice as well. Specifically, I was hoping to learn if you are interested in attending, partnering with, or simply advertising the People's Climate March April 29, 2017.
What is the People's Climate March? peoplesclimate.org
On Saturday, April 29, 2017, all are welcome to gather in Washington
DC or at Sister Marches to stand up for Climate, Jobs and Justice. We march to:
Advance solutions to the climate crisis that are rooted in racial, social and economic justice and committed to protecting front-line communities and workers.
Protect our right to clean air, water, land, healthy communities and a world at peace.
Immediately stop attacks on immigrants, communities of color, indigenous and tribal people and their lands, and workers.
Ensure public funds and investments create good paying jobs that provide a family-sustaining wage and benefits and preserve workers’ rights, including the right to unionize.
Fund investments in our communities, people and environment to transition to a new clean and renewable energy economy that works for all including those once working in fossil fuels.
Protect our basic rights to free press, protest and free speech.
This April 29th will be our march day and the 100th day of the new Federal Government Administration. We want to put hundreds of thousands of people onto the streets of Washington DC to bring our voices to the halls of political power. If you are willing and able to go to DC — please do!
For those unable to travel, The Era of the Eighth Fire organization, is heading up planning for People's Climate Sister March in Columbus, Ohio.
Who is organizing?
The Columbus march organizers are in regular contact with the People’s Climate Movement (PCM), a project of dozens of organizations working together to solve the climate crisis. PCM started with the historic People’s Climate March on the eve of the UN Climate Summit in September 2014 when 400,000 people from every walk of life marched through the streets of New York City demanding climate action. We need to stand together to protect our climate, our health, and our communities. Part of that may mean resisting President Trump’s agenda — but it is more crucial that we actively build a vision of the world we want, and rise together to make it possible. This is building for a movement - not just a moment!
To change everything, we need everyone. On April 29, 2017, let us march for Climate, Jobs, and Justice.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your participation, but respect your decisions and will not contact you again. Please feel free to reach out with questions.
Sincerely,
Hannah Fithen
