We are repeating the Introductory class in case you missed it on the 19th! The series explores emerging local alternatives to the global corporate consumer culture and explores the transition to "living local" and what it means for us. The first class will include a 19-minute version of the film, Economics of Happiness, followed by a presentation and discussion of the key concepts of corporate globalization and bottom-up challenges from the local food movement, energy democracy, and sustainable economic models. Additional classes will explore how to engage and participate in these alternatives in central Ohio: Monday, November 7 (Local Foods), Monday, December 5 (Energy Democracy), and Monday January 9 (New Economy). The classes are offered by Simply Living’s “Sustainable U” initiative and sponsored by SL’s Transition Central Ohio group. Instructors are Chuck Lynd <Chuck...@gmail.com> and Mac Crawford <Crawf...@osu.edu>. Cost: $12 and $10 per class for Simply Living members and students. 25% Discount for all 4 classes. $36 or $30.
