Hello Newsletter Team and board.  The information below is TENTATIVE.  None of the theaters OR Dates are set in stone.  A couple of questions -

First, the Newsletter team agreed to order The Age of Consequences, a documentary on climate change, to go along with plans for a MEETUP at the Columbus People's Mobilization for Climate Change march on April 29.  Hey, bring your self and bring a sign - we will plan to have some sort of banner so you can all march with Simply Living!

BUT, I learned that The Age of Consequences is being shown Thursday, March 23, at the Gateway at 7 pm.  So, please come to that event but we need another film for April that deals with climate change.  I am pretty happy with the Fierce Green Fire screening about the history of the environmental movement right up to the climate change movement. HOWEVER, we might also show Josh Fox's latest film, How To Let Go of the World which is pretty current and has the Josh Fox name. Does anyone feel strongly about one movie or the other?  Or want to recommend another climate change film?

Also, anyone have ideas other than Biophilic Design to complement our Meetup at MORPC in May?

FYI, Jenny, the CSTB Orientations are held now on the second Monday each month, prior to potlucks on the 3rd Sunday.

Chuck

Hey Chuck, Thanks for this!

I still haven’t seen anything about a Columbus March for Climate. I’ve only seen events for the March 22nd March for Science. Has anyone heard anything about the Climate March? Should we just make the meetup for the 22nd Science March?

I haven’t seen any of those docs so I can’t say which I would prefer. I defer to your educated opinion :)

I am checking with some climate activist friends to learn more about it.  Chuck

Hey all,

Just a note that 5/16, the tentative date for Biophilic Design, is
Board Meeting Tuesday, I think. Also, Jenn with MORPC is not able to
do 5/23 as she will be on vacation. She requested 5/15 or 5/16, but it
looks like those dates conflict with our tentative schedule. Are there
any other days that could work? June, perhaps?

Thanks, Jenee - should have noticed the Tuesday conflict - distracted by free popcorn on Tuesdays at the Gateway. :)

I think Monday 5/15 could work.  I have not actively negotiated yet with Gateway for Biophilic Design - if we can get Tuesday May 9 for the film it would precede MORPC on 5/15.  Maybe the order is not important.

Thanks Jenee!

I think the Board meeting is the 21st?

Chuck, would it be possible to move the date for Biophollic Design in May so we can lock in the MORPC event for the 15th or 16th?

Yes, our email crossed paths. I can do a different date.  However, Jenee is correct that the MAY board meets on the 16th. :)

Ok. Jenn and another teammate are both available for May 15. When will
you negotiate a date with Gateway? Am waiting o hear back from Jenn
regarding another date during the week of May 22, but am thinking that
June might be the next available date for MORPC if the 15th doesnt
work. Tell me, tell me.
