Hello Simply Living Board,

For over 3 1/2 years, I have served as a member of the board and editor of our quarterly newsletter. For maybe half of that time, I have been the board secretary. I am currently past due for a reconfirmation of those duties, but I do not intend to seek one. Today, I submit my resignation from Simply Living.

The simple truth is I have spent the majority of the last several years focusing on improving the lives of others, and it has come at the expense of my own. It's time I focus inward for a spell.

I do not envision my participation in Simply Living ceasing entirely. I will remain a member and my monthly financial contribution will continue. I will still attend what events I can (work is sending me out of state over GTBS so I will sadly be absent) and support SL in ways that make sense to me.

Thank you for your understanding and support over the past several months. I wish you all continued success and encourage you to reach out if you feel I can lend a hand or offer needed missing input.

I know I speak for the entire Board in saying we greatly appreciate your time, advice, expertise,and commitment to Simply Living. Besides being Board Secretary and editing the newsletter (which is a lot) your voice at Board meetings will be missed. I hope others will be inspired by your example to follow your convictions. It is certainly understandable that you need to refocus your priorities. You will be missed for many reasons!

I think we should have a semi-official Board toast and appreciation of Luke  at Cara Bar soon!

I too am sad to see you go but I understand. Thank you so much for all that you have done for SL. I wish you nothing but success and happiness.  I look forward to seeing you at future gatherings.

Yes, I meant to add my appreciation but I've been super busy. I want to add that Luke was one of the first, if not THE first young people on the board.  Ok, he's older now - claims no relation to the millennials.  Or as Dylan put it, "I was so much older then I'm younger than that now."  

I do remember being outside on a nice earth day event when Luke stopped by our exhibit and began talking to me about how his values were a good fit with those of Simply Living. It turned out to be true and he was a man of his word, following up with me until I convinced him he needed some Board Experience.  The rest is history.  

Don't be a stranger, Luke!
