Starting tonight at the Drexel, Simply Living is screening A Fierce Green Fire, an excellent documentary about the history of the environmental movement right up to Climate Change! We're showing the one hour version so there will be time for networking before the film plus a Q&A Panel after the film. We'll have local organizations and literature to learn about local resources and ways to get involved!

Get inspired for the Simply Living Meetup at the People's Climate March on Saturday, starting at COSI at 11 am. In solidarity with the national climate march in Washington, D.C., Simply Living is joining with hundreds of others (maybe thousands?) concerned about climate change in central Ohio. Look for our BANNER! Bring a sign of your own making. We are offering a FREE MEMBERSHIP in Simply Living for the person whose sign is judged the best! Need ideas? Check out the 100 most popular slogan HERE. More info on the march HERE.

We have three more events coming in May! They are briefly described below but I have attached a document that includes all 4 events including pictures!  Please help us spread the word with friends and social media.

Mon May 1 Transition Hub Class: Watch & Discuss Just Eat It!: A Food Waste Story 6:30 - 8 pm
We will watch the 50-minute version of this documentary film about food waste and food rescue. The film brings farmers, retailers, inspiring organizations, and consumers to the table in a story that is equal parts education and delicious entertainment. We will discuss the film and its implications for us as individual consumers and for Columbus and central Ohio communities. Class led by Mac Crawford and Chuck Lynd. Free.  Donations are appreciated and support Simply Living's Sustainable U.  Location: Northwood High Bldg, 2231 N. High St., Columbus 43201. Free parking only in the R (Rardin Clinic) spaces in the rear lot, or on adjacent streets. Contact: Chuck...@gmail.com or 614-354-6172. Light refreshments available! Bring a favorite snack to share if you like.

Tues May 9 Biophilic Design: The Architecture of Life @ Gateway 7-9 PM
Come on a journey to the world's most celebrated buildings in a search for the architecture of life. Encounter buildings that connect people and nature - hospitals where patients heal faster, schools where children's test scores are higher, and communities where people know their neighbors and families thrive. This film pairs nicely with Simply Living’s May 15th Meetup at MORPC. Cost: $5 donation. Location: Gateway Film Center, 1550 N High St, Cols, OH 43201. Contact: Chuck...@gmail.com or 614-354-6172.

Mon May 15 Simply Living Meetup at the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) 6-8 PM
We will be participating in an interactive exercise that will ask us to envision what our city looks like in 2050, especially in regard to development and population growth. Attendants will learn how city planning impacts the local experience. This Meetup is a great follow-up to the May 9 film, "Biophilic Design: The Architecture of Life" at the Gateway Film Center. Limit: 30 participants. Location: Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission, 111 Liberty St, Suite 100, Cols, 43215. Parking in south-side lot in “M” spots. Contact: He...@simplyliving.org. More info at MORPC.org.

Happy Earth Day and these Warm Spring Days!
