The Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan

PRAYERS FOR HAITI

We, members and friends of Simbahang Lingkod ng Bayan, offer our deepest prayer and solidarity with the people of Haiti in these trying times. No amount of words can capture the sadness and sense of loss that we share as one humanity with our brothers and sisters in Haiti. Yet, in this time of great trial, we solemnly believe that goodness and kindness shall light up in the seeming darkness of the moment.

We also humbly ask all in our network and those who are able to read this letter, if you can, on January 19 (Tuesday) at exactly 5:00 in the afternoon, a full week after the tragic earthquake that razed most of Port-au-Prince to the ground, wherever you are, to stop for one full minute, in silence and solidarity joining all our prayers for the people of Haiti.

For all those who wish to help and donate through our network, the Jesuits of the French-Canada Province of which Haiti is a mission area, have provided the following e-mail address for questions - missions...@jesuites.org

Let us all, in our own little way, be beacons of the light we have received during our moments of trial last year.

Thank you very much.

May God Bless Us All.
