I'm working on moving the Slate website from http://slate.tunes.org
(hosted by the TUNES project members) to http://slatelanguage.org
(hosted by HCoop). The new hosting offers more autonomy so I should be
able to set up anything imaginable, as long as it's not too complex to
manage (for me).

So far, I have the following implemented:
- The static website content is migrated and the domain name URL
references updated.
- There is a permanent redirect from the slate.tunes.org site to the
new one.
- The old darcs repositories are migrated.
- The reference documents (generated from LyX) are migrated. Their
content has not been updated, however, to reflect Timmy Douglas' work.
- Slate's Freshmeat entry has been updated (pending moderator approval).

The Wiki is NOT migrated. The wiki was getting spammed regularly so
I'm interested in just using Google Code's implementation which is
easier to secure. I haven't sifted through the content for migration
yet, but some of it is worthwhile.

The main website is just static HTML and I'd like to set up a CMS that
can help generate RSS feeds for public-facing news and other community
content. Google Code in theory can do all of this, but is fairly
simple and only designed around maintaining the code as an artifact,
so maybe I need to re-think the role of a separate website.

Comments, suggestions, etc. are welcome. I'll follow up when major
updates are ready.

Also, obviously the new site is using Google Code, Google Groups, and
GitHub, which are all free and externally-hosted and managed. I
certainly enjoy not having to do this ourselves.

One question is whether it would be worthwhile to mirror/bridge the
git repository with subversion on Google Code, which I have learned is
not too hard. I do still have an affinity for darcs, and darcs 2 seems
to be an improvement, but would like to focus on accessibility and
subversion would provide that for casual visitors.
