I spent yesterday in VMWare adapting old Slate Windows VM porting
code, and managed to get everything running. I haven't given the
socket interface a full workout (winsock being mostly-like-BSD-sockets
but not quite), but it should only require a few tweaks to make it
reliable.

I intend to post a slatevm.exe to the website once I figure out how to
statically link a pthreads library. Or I could just re-setup the whole
NSIS installer, which I'm considering.

The source for all of this is at
http://github.com/briantrice/slate-language/ with the windows-specific
build files in src/vm/ with the rest. The Windows-specific code is all
inline with the normal files, with as minimal ifdef-hackery as I could
manage.

I also have Ubuntu set up for Slate development inside a VMWare
session, so I may be more active in cross-platform issues than I
normally am on MacOS X.
