Accounting platform for developers - I predict will be a "huge" thing in a few years

Every few years, there is a technology that comes along that revolutionizes an industry (or a few industries).

The computer, the mobile phone, the internet, Apple (and the smartphone), Google, Dropbox, AirBnB.....mark my words, I suspect that Boocx.com is one of those.

Boocx pronounced (Boo-xx, ala "Books"...i.e. "Accounting Books") is a real-time double entry accounting platform for developers.

Basically, as a transaction happens, all your accounting statements (cash flows, income statement and balance sheet) gets updated automatically. So your accounts are literally always up-to-date.

It's one of those things that you don't really think about at first, but once you wrap your head around it, you realize how perfectly timed it is (given the maturity of the web and ecommerce, etc.) and how obvious it is that you should be able to do it in this day and age.

They are about to release their API and docs, and it is something I think you guys should pay attention to.

It is founded by one of the founders of Engine Yard, and many of the early employees there.

I was lucky enough to be given a demo (and talk to 2 of the founders - they both seem like very intelligent and competent people) - and I will likely be building something on the platform once it is ready.

I was going to be selfish and not say anything until I launched my app, but then.....I figured that I should at least spread the word for these guys :)

Boocx sounds interesting. For me it will boil down to price point.
