Hi! nice to se a mailinglist, Im not very good with linux so this suit
me fine, I hope on many replys tough:) I am wondering how I can save
and load the configuration, like ftp user acounts and also how I can
mount a hdd for filesharing, I would like some sort of script so this
is done automaticly every reboot, I have been running a slackware
server with glftpd on it for some time, and now I tested slampp and I
tought it would be great with a live cd who does the same thing cus
nothing will ever break, so I dont ever need to hassle with it, my idea
is to somehow save the configuration to disc and load it at reboot
along with mounting the partition with my shared files and also if
possible my web site in the apache server, is it possible to redirect
the http dir to disc? the thing is that it is a little difficult for a
noob like me. and I didnt find any info on the net about this.

Hi Dev66,

Thank you for your email. I'm sorry for this late reply of mine. So
many things to do down here, so please accept my apology for not
respoding your questions promptly.

Simple said, you can manage them all by using a postinstall.sh scripts
initiated by install.sh scripts under /opt/slampp directory. Just put
your settings on that postinstall.sh file and it will be executed
during startup. You can find out how the install.sh scripts work by
opening it with an editor and I'm sure it is easy to understand if you
have basic Linux knowledge.

Or, you can utilize 'configsave' feature. It will save all your
configurations and all changed files from /root, /etc, /home and /var
directories so that it will be loaded everytime you run live CD.

Example:
# configsave /mnt/hda1/slamppconf.mo

I hope one of them would work for you.

Regards,
Kemas

ok. thanks,no problem, I will have a look on that, I also experimented
wit a HD install since I didn't know what to do, and I tought it
wouldn't be any problem since it run like a dream from the CD, but it
turns out that the computer hangs, and it say kernel panic! init not
found? what does that mean? an what may cause this?

Try to re-install SLAMPP. It could happen if something is missing
during installation.
