can't install 4.2.1 trail version

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to install 4.2.1 trail version (sudo ./slamdata_unix_4_2_1.sh), but it can't complete at the end. the error info says “ An error occurred while attempting to config the installation", hit ok button, then installed everything had been removed automatically.

 

I have fresh linux-mint 18.1 xfce 64bit installed, java 8, mongodb 3.4.5  installed.  what else i was missing? Please help!

Hi Chao,

We have not seen this problem before. You may be better off trying to run the Community Edition from github rather than using the installer then since you can see error messages if any come up.  The README has full instructions on how to build the product.

We'll look into this issue and see if we can reproduce soon.

Additionally - have you tried creating a user dedicated to running SlamData, and then extracting it / running it with that user? Usually there is no need to use sudo to install.
