This morning it came to my attention that someone in the group has
shared unapproved minutes with non-members. This is a copyright
violation of group documents, is a serious breach of parlimentary
rules, and is without any merit--unless one thinks that drama and
stupidity is meritorious. It is also the final piece of information I
needed to make a decision regarding continuing with the group. It is
difficult enough to justify using SL as a professional activity when
Linden Labs is so unprofessionally run, justifying continuing with
Pride under the "service activities" portion of my contract when such
a profound lack of professionalism is the norm is simply not feasible.
Therefore, effectively immediately, I am resigning as Chair of Second
Pride. Neither my real life nor my Second Life reputations can afford
the damage that continuing to associate myself with a group so
profoundly unprofessional would cause. I will also be advising
Globalgiving that they separate themselves from the Second Pride
Festival in the future.
