Hi everyone,

I was having dinner the other day with some members of the newly-formed GDG in Ulanbataar, Mongolia. They were very interested in getting to know GDG members from other countries.

So, I thought of just inviting everyone interested in the same kind of interaction - to feel free and just join mailing lists of other GDGs... here are some GDGs I have been in personal contact with over the past couple of years:

phnom-pe...@googlegroups.com - Phnom Penh, Cambodia
gdg...@googlegroups.com - Kathmandu, Nepal
ub...@googlegroups.com - Ulanbataar, Mongolia
gtug-vi...@googlegroups.com - Vientiane, Laos
gtug-l...@googlegroups.com - Lilongwe, Malawi
harge...@googlegroups.com - Hargeisa, Somaliland
GDGAnta...@googlegroups.com - Antananarivo, Madagascar
sl-...@googlegroups.com - Colombo, Sri Lanka

Please feel free to join any of these mailing lists and interact with people from GDGs in other countries! (of course, there are many other GDGs - you don't need to restrict yourself to the ones listed about: https://developers.google.com/groups/directory/ )

Best regards,

Divon Lan, Next Wave Emerging Countries, Google

Divon, Great idea.

I'm with Samdy on this. It would be awesome if we could meet from APAC region and plan for combined event/meet inviting all GDGs of the region.

Possible ?

Very good idea. It would be more interactive if we can have something like an international GDG DevFest in near future.

Sounds like a great idea, but not sure Google can pay for the travel costs. Perhaps a short term alternative would be to have hang outs between GDGs?

Perhaps someone can take the initiative to arrange a hangout?

Divon,

Let's use this form to collect hangout interest:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dFg0VVlkTE5KS3VRb1VGRUtWNkowSVE6MQ#gid=0

I've shared the doc with you, will do to other GDG leads once they submit it.

Regarding the email addresses of the mailing list: seems like many have post restriction, like we do in our GDG mailing list, to post you should be member of the group (i am getting to many bounces). Please forward message below again to all these group (included the link to mailing lists)
