Hi everyone,

I'm very excited to forward this announcement from Mohamed Shalan <msh...@aucegypt.edu>;

We are pleased to announce the immediate availability of OpenLane. OpenLane is an automated RTL to GDSII flow and methodology based on publicly available open-source EDA tools configured and tuned for the SkyWater Open Source Process Design Kit.

OpenLane main objective is to generate a clean layout from RTL designs with "no-human in the loop." and has been used, successfully, to tape-out the striVe family of open-source test SoC's.

OpenLane is available at https://github.com/efabless/openlane under the Apache 2.0 license. The repo contains everything needed, including documentation and examples, to enable macros hardening; shortly, full-chip implementation will be available. Please join Slack #openlane channel (https://join.slack.com/share/zt-fz6nxker-BpU8BOyCh83tvs2VXm47eg) to ask questions and to get support.

Mohamed Shalan is also the next speaker in the FOSSi Foundation's Dial Up virtual talk series (https://fossi-foundation.org/dial-up/). In a little under 6 days you can hear him talk about the OpenLane flow which is focused on using OpenROAD with SkyWater 130nm PDK. The details are below;

Date:         Tuesday, July 28, 2020

Looking forward to seeing all the cool projects you start (and bugs you find)!

More exciting announcements coming soon!
