Hey Everyone,

Thanks for the enthusiasm so far in getting back into the game. I'd really like to see posts from some more people before we get going on the missions I've cooked up.

That said, with the exception of SG8's OOC group (which I should be changing up tonight), I've shaken up the OOC groups to reflect current team membership, and I'd like to start with the mission briefings by the end of next week (Dec. 8ish), so if everyone could get something out by then, even just two paragraphs of their characters kicking their heels and waiting for the missions, I would appreciate it.

SG4, 6, and 8 will be getting off-world missions related to the shake-up storyline. SG5, by virtue of Ki being banged up, will be getting a sort of ad hoc, on-world mission that Katie is hopefully going to post a prologue of sorts for me in the near future.

The way I'm going to try running this for now is like so: you get the briefing and setup and the General answers whatever questions the characters have, if he can. One player on each team is then going to get a "reveal" of sorts from me to add into one of their posts, shortly after the missions start. In each case, they'll be something the characters need to respond to. As the missions go on, I'll have additional reveals or surprises or what-have-you that I'll either give to a player when appropriate, or prop up an NPC to deliver at the appropriate time.

I understand that dropping stuff in might get in the way of JPs, but I'm hoping this will also provide some incentive to keep JPs shorter, and to rely more on the two-paragraphs-and-tag play that we had going on for a while with a couple of the teams. I'm also hoping that GM-dropped changes or reveals will also keep interest up in the missions as they go on, and it is going to be one of my tools to keep things moving if I see a mission stagnating.

Questions, concerns and discussion go here.

Thanks,

Dave K.

Dave,

I'm looking forward to the new 'input' method - it will almost be like
RPG gaming. I know I have Ki down with injuries, but I was wondering
if there is a way to include him in the 'ad-hoc' adventure? If not,
it's not a big deal - I'll write some stuff between him and Ellie.

Also - I was wondering if you could change the title on Ki's bio from
Malachai Cochraine - Field Team 2IC to Malachai Cochraine - Field
Team CO?

I'm just now recovering from surgery, so I'll have some extra keyboard
time while I am couch-bound...
